Intumescent Fire Grilles Sound Reducing

Type HRDB

Our intumescent sound reducing ventilation grilles have been developed to be mounted in partition walls and doors to prevent spreading of fire from one room to another. The fire resistance has been tested and approved in accordance with the general principles of NEN 6069. This means that the grilles are fire resistant during 60 minutes and accordingly may be mounted in fire resistant doors and partition walls.

Our intumescent sound reducing ventilation grilles consist of two parts. Both parts have been covered with a combination of micro-acoustic material and a fire resistant material on the inside.

Under normal circumstances the grille is open and allows air to flow through. In case of fire the fire resistant material on the inside will close off the grille from the inside. Standard colour is RAL 9010. Other RAL colours can be obtained as well at a small extra price.

Our fire resistant grilles can be made in any length and height.

Our intumescent sound reducing ventilation grilles have been made fire resistant by using special materials in combination with its construction. A copy of the official testing report can be supplied on demand.

By application of acoustic materials the grilles have also been made sound reducing. A test report on the sound absorbing effects is also available.

The opening in the wall or door needs to be at least 10mm larger than the inner grille measures (L x H; see figure on the left) of the sound reducing grille of your choice.

The maximum sound absorption, at a minimal air-resistance (20 Pa), will be achieved at an airspeed of no more than 2.8m/s calculated on the open passage of the grille.
